This is a recipe that my Mom got from the old Howard Johnson's chain when we were kids. It truly is a "comfort" food and is great on crisp fall evenings. It will remind you of a warm pumpkin pie

Instructions
  1. In a saucepan combine the milk and molasses. Stir in the Cornmeal and cook over medium heat till thick. About 10 minutes
  2. In a mixing bowl combine the egg, sugar, butter, ginger, cinnamon and salt. Once the mixture on the stove has thickened remove from the heat and stir in the combined ingredients from the mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the now combined mixture into a greased casserole dish and bake uncovered at 300 for 1.5 Hours.
  4. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Serve topped with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream
